ABOUT THE 100 BLACK MEN OF SILICON VALLEY

The mission of the 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley, Inc. is to improve the quality of life within our communities, and enhance educational and economic opportunities for our youth and other diverse groups

The 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley. Inc. is committed to the intellectual development of youth and the economic empowerment of our community based on the following precepts: respect for family, spirituality and integrity.

The 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley, Inc. seeks to serve as a beacon of leadership by utilizing our diverse talents to create environments where our children are motivated to achieve, and to empower our people to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve.

Founded in 1993 (charter awarded May 22), 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley is a local chapter of the 100 Black Men of America, a national organization founded on the principle that Black men have both the ability and the responsibility to improve the quality of life within their communities.

Established to serve Black youth and families in one of the most economically powerful regions in the world, the Silicon Valley chapter was created to address a persistent gap. While innovation and wealth flourished in the region, Black communities continued to face barriers to education, economic access, and leadership development. The chapter was formed to meet those challenges directly through mentorship, advocacy, and action.

Guided by the national organization’s four core pillars mentoring, education, economic empowerment, and health and wellness the chapter focuses on delivering practical, community based programs that create measurable impact. From hands on mentorship to leadership development, financial literacy, and youth entrepreneurship, the work is designed to prepare the next generation with both confidence and capability.

As a volunteer led organization, the 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley remains committed to showing up consistently and leading by example. Its history is defined not by ceremony, but by sustained engagement, accountability, and a belief that exposure to strong Black leadership changes outcomes.

That commitment continues to shape the chapter’s mission today and into the future.
