Who We Are
About Us
Three decades of mentorship, advocacy, and community building in Silicon Valley.
Our History
Founded in 1993 to Close the Gap
Despite Silicon Valley's extraordinary prosperity, significant educational and economic gaps affected Black youth and families in our region. In 1993, a group of dedicated men recognized this disparity and took action — establishing the Silicon Valley chapter of 100 Black Men of America, Inc.
For more than thirty years, we have served Santa Clara County and surrounding communities with programs designed to uplift, educate, and empower. Our work is built on the belief that mentorship is the cornerstone of lasting change — that a young person who sees success modeled before them can achieve it themselves.
We are proud to be part of 100 Black Men of America, Inc., a national organization with chapters across the country that collectively serve tens of thousands of youth each year.
Standing on Shoulders
Carrying a Civil Rights Legacy Forward
Our work as 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley is rooted in a tradition of Black leadership and service that stretches back generations. The 100 Black Men of America movement began in New York City in 1963 — the same era when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights leaders were calling for systemic change. Our founders believed, and we still believe, that mentoring and economic empowerment are how that legacy continues — by ensuring the next generation of Black youth in Santa Clara County can see themselves leading.
"Out of a mountain of despair, a stone of hope."
